Frequently Asked Questions


When and where is registration?

Registration begins May 7th. Players can be registered at  Registration will be open through June 30.  After June 30, late registration may be be accepted.  However late registrants will be assessed a $25 late fee, placed on a waiting list and will NOT be guaranteed a roster spot..

When and where do I get my equipment?

The league will supply players with a helmet, shoulder pads, pants and a mouth guard. The league will also supply cheerleaders with appropriate uniforms. Equipment fitting dates will be announced soon.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept online payments (Mastercard & Visa).  Other forms of payment may be arranged in special cases.  Please contact John Boustani ([email protected]) if such an accommodation is necessary. 

What are the player eligibility requirements and registration costs?

We offer three football divisions based on the player’s grade level.  We also offer a cheer-leading program.

  • The Freshman Division will consist of players in 2nd grade with a max weight limit of 110 pounds.  The maximum a player may weigh to be eligible to carry the ball is 95 pounds.
  • The Junior Varsity Division will consist of players in 3rd & 4th grade with a max weight limit of 140 pounds.  The maximum a player may weigh to be eligible to carry the ball is 110 pounds.
  • The Varsity Division will consist of players in grades 5th & 6th grade.  There is no max weight limit.  The maximum a player may weigh to be eligible to carry the ball is 125 pounds. 

    Participation cost for football players will be $200.  
    Participation cost for cheerleaders is $120.  Cheerleaders must be in Grades 1st through 6th grade.

    Do I need a physical?
    Yes, all football players and cheerleaders are required to submit a physical.  Physical forms are available under the Forms tab.

    Can my child participate if they live outside the Twinsburg School District? No, all participants must live within the Twinsburg School District.  However District attendance is not required.

    How are the teams made?
    The teams in each division will be divided equally in accordance with the rules set by the Western Reserve Football League, of which TYF is a member. 

    When do we start practice?
    First day of practice for the 2018 season is Monday, July 30, 2018. 

    How long is practice?
    Football practice is typically two hours, 3 days per week.  Times and dates are left to the head coaches’ discretion.  During the pre-season, teams are permitted to practice up to 4 days per week. Cheer practices will be determined by the cheer coordinator.

    When are the games?
    The game schedule for the 2018 season has yet to be finalized. Games are typically played on Saturdays and occasionally on Sundays.  Home games will be played at Tiger Stadium.

    How many games do we play?
    We play 6 regular season games, and 2 playoff or consolation games.
